Well, as you can probably tell, I don't get in the mood to rant or write very often, but today I was forced to take a stand when dAmn was corrupted with new 'improvements' that knocked away some of the well balanced parts of your chatting experience. Things that worked so well you didn't even notice them.

The new look is downright UGLY, I have no clue how you could call it ‘awesome looking’

For the chatroom tabs; I'm normally in a few, and the new large size takes up a lot more space than they should when they're staked, although I will compliment the fixing of having the chatroom names in the lower leves move around to try to be next to the selected room, constantly dropping down and popping up.

NEW TEXT IS HUGE. I don't like that, as I already have most chatrooms that I can do it in having all the topic/title because they took up so much space on my friends' with lower resolution screens. (here’s proof [link] of just how small *Senaru’s screen is due to the new ‘improvements’ )

What's with the dA bar across the top? If you're in a chatroom, how many people want to be chatting when they could be checking messages? The friends dropdown could have it's uses, but that's what /whois is for. I see no point whatsoever in the Collect button being anywhere on dAmn (come on, being able to essentially fav without even looking at the art?). I see that entire bar as just wasted space where I used to have those basic command links. Besides, how am I suppose to update that thing without refreshing the chatroom, loosing my logs, and getting penalized in #iRPG? Are you dooming us to staring at outdated message numbers or just tempting us to refresh more often?

Speaking of which, the basic chat links. Why are they on the bottom above my text input? How many people actually need use of the 'Chatroom Settings' button that much not to know where it is? The 'More Chatrooms' and 'Emoticons' ones have their uses when you're new, but after you've figured out the emoticons and have your favorite rooms that you already know how to find, they're just an eyesore and yet more wasted space where dAx once so nicely placed all the commands and buttons that people actually use.

And to top it all off, a scroll bar? The chat’s size was nice and neat where I didn’t need one, but the scroll bar that just scrolls down to show me a blank space just slapped under the chat interface is definitely another one for the annoying column.

On the positives of this ‘improved’ version, the only one I’ve noticed is that clicking on the messages bar does open it in a different tab, but other than that I see none except for new uses, most of which become unnecessary after the first week of actually using dAmn. It’s an eyesore, it wastes space, has uneconomically placed ‘useful’ links, and errors out half the time I try to open it (although I suspect that the failing connections and the fact that it can’t work with scripts written specifically for that dAmn will be worked out soon)

I don’t like to nor mean to rant. I can see that atleast some effort was put into changing dAmn around, but just looking at this thing has me convinced that it’s not for the better. Please, give us back what we know and love so my eyes will stop hurting.

In closing of this impromptu rant, I hope that you don’t do one of those annoying systemwide kicks, as I’ll be keeping the good version of dAmn open as long as I can. After that option is gone, I just hope that someone up there with the power to fix this new eyesore has already done so. If this is what my subscription money is funding, then I have no hope but to be sad.

PS: To any coding geniuses out there with nothing to do, I would absolutely LOVE an add-on or script that will get me the old dAmn back and cover this new thing up
